Netwerkbijeenkomst 15 juni – How Systems Engineering can drive innovation
Deze avond staat een interactive bijeenkomst samen met INCOSE Zweden op het programma. Vanuit het BCN gebouw (beschikbaar gesteld door MathWorks) gaan we met leden van INCOSE Zweden in op hoe Systems Engineering innovatie kan stimuleren.
Hieronder volgt een toelichting op het programma zoals ook gedeeld met de zweedse INCOSE leden.
– Introduction of INCOSE Sweden – Tom Strandberg
– Introduction of INCOSE-NL – Harry van der Velde
– Introduction on The Agile Innovation Framework by – Bill Chandler
– Group discussions on strengths / weaknesses of using SE for innovation both from S and NL perspective
– Agree actions we take as chapters to create bilateral support for a NL-S study on how SE can be used to drive innovation
Bill Chandler is a well-known and active INCOSE member combining expertise in the fields of Innovation and Systems Engineering. His introduction will focus on the value of innovation and the role Systems Engineering can play in it.
The Agile Innovation Framework facilitates the structured development of innovations. Approximately 85% of innovation activities are repetitive, therefore some structure to innovation may clearly be beneficial. Systems Engineering as a well-defined and implemented approach can provide this basic structure or framework for establishing an innovation capability. Both Sweden and the Netherlands have a reputation as innovative countries. When preparing this session, it became clear that the way innovation is approached in S and NL are too some extent complementary and that innovation practitioners in both countries may be able to learn from each other. There is already some infrastructure in place i.e. Dutch – Sweden chambre of commerce and collaboration between Sweden and Dutch research institutes.
The objective of the session is to prepare a proposal that can be submitted for combined S-NL funding how Systems Engineering can drive innovation. The funding will allow third parties to work this research topic promoting the use of Systems Engineering for innovation both in the Netherlands and Sweden.
As we will break up in mixed groups using Microsoft Teams comprising of both Swedish and Dutch participants, It is important you bring your own laptop. An online Miro board will be prepared and used to capture the ideas of the groups.
