The transition is in the air! Towards electric aviation
Abstract
We Love Transport. With this slogan, ADSE dedicates its knowledge and expertise to the transportation modes of today and the future. We do this with a systems perspective, as true Systems Engineers. We know that everything that flies, sails, drives, and travels by rail is part of a larger whole. Energy supply is part of that whole. We work for our clients on the migration to more sustainable transport, for example, in the form of electric flying (trains have been electric for decades!).
This migration requires adjustments to the modes of transport themselves and to the infrastructure and supporting systems. But more than just a technical challenge, the migration to more sustainable transport is a systemic change. Breaking the status quo with the use of fossil fuels requires technical analysis, persuasiveness, and a sound business case. We also see this in other areas where we help our clients implement major changes.
How can you approach the migration to sustainable transport with a systems perspective? How do you approach a problem that goes beyond just technology using Systems Engineering? And what are the benefits? In an interactive workshop, we’ll explore these questions together with participants. Using examples from our own practice, we’ll spark creativity and spark ideas!
Bio Jan Verbeek
Jan Verbeek is a senior business consultant and co-founder of ADSE. Since joining Fokker Aircraft, he has been working on SE applications and its integrated lifecycle approach. For clients such as Airbus, Bombardier, NS (Dutch Railways), Damen Naval, and various startups and innovators, he has contributed to the realization, scaling, and embedding of innovative working methods to design better systems (in terms of performance or sustainability impact). Simultaneously, he has also contributed to the planning and organization of projects in such a way that technical and economic feasibility and manufacturability receive the necessary attention for manufacturers and operators/owners, right from the concept and planning stage.
Bio Ilja Achterberg
Ilja Achterberg is a Senior Consultant in the field of Systems Engineering. She helps customers by thinking about the challenges associated with complex technical projects. With experience in various sectors, a sharp analytical insight and a focus on system architecture, she provides a structured approach with an eye for the process. She believes it is important to create a balance between attention to details and seeing the bigger picture.
