Bio.
\n<\/strong>Victor Sluiter is a Technical Lead and Researcher at SMART Mechatronics and Robotics, where he leads multidisciplinary teams in developing robotic and mechatronic solutions for domains in which automation is still emerging. With a background spanning high-tech industry and academic research, Victor has contributed to the development of advanced measurement systems, sensor technologies, and biomechanical engineering innovations.Over the past several years, his work has focused on bridging the gap between industrial challenges and applied research, helping organizations identify where robotization can create value and guiding projects from concept to implementation. A strong advocate of Systems Engineering, Victor is particularly interested in how structured engineering approaches can bring clarity to complex problems, expose critical technical challenges, and accelerate the development of effective solutions.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

Abstract.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Why did we have to stop an SE Education programme after 2 years? In 2021, Saxion University of Applied Sciences started the Master Robotics Systems Engineering (MRSE). The programme was developed in response to demand from industry for engineers who could work across disciplines and deal with the integration challenges that robotics projects often bring. After two cohorts, however, the intake of new students was suspended and the licence was eventually returned to the Ministry of Education.\u00a0This talk will discuss how this could have happened. Although the paper mainly focuses on the order of events, I’d like to use the presentation to focus more on what companies may need from SE Education, even if they don’t know it yet.
