Abstract
The transition from document-based to model-based is gaining momentum. However, in practice, we see that we still generate documents from the model(s) so that stakeholders can review the design.
What do we need to do to take the next step towards a fully model-based world? Is it possible to skip this document generation and have stakeholders review directly within the model? What do we need to properly implement model-based review?
Bio Rob de Jong
Rob de Jong studied Technical Computer Science at the HTS Haarlem and started his career as a software engineer at Electrorail Traffic Systems in 1993. In 1999 he moved to CMG where he grew to become a software architect of mission critical systems. In 2011, Rob started as a system engineer at Soltegro and then progressed to system architect. At Soltegro he is involved in the design of various infrastructure projects where Soltegro, using SysML, has introduced MBSE into the infrastructure market. In addition to many tunnel projects, Rob is also involved in the design of bridges and locks. Soltegro uses Digital Twins in many of these projects.
Bio Colette van den Berg
Colette van den Berg graduated in Food Technology in Leeuwarden. After several years of experience in industry, she transitioned to the infrastructure market in 2007. Her career began as a software engineer at Imtech, after which she moved to Vialis in 2015. There, she played a key role in establishing a software group focused on industrial automation.
Since 2018, Colette has worked as a systems architect. Within the infrastructure sector, she has worked on various renovation projects, including tunnels and several lock projects. Colette is known for her drive and her constant search for simple and practical solutions. Her focus is on the proper functioning of systems, with maintainability and user-friendliness as core values.
