Knowledge-driven work in engineering-to-order projects: efficiency and quality throughout the entire life cycle
15:00 – 16:30
Abstract
Engineering-to-order projects aren’t unique. Yet, we often treat them as such, even though large parts are repeatable and reusable. As a result, we constantly reinvent the wheel, and project management and systems engineering too often become administrative tasks.
During our session, we’ll demonstrate that project management can be much more: a strategic management tool that helps build faster, smarter, and more sustainably. Driven by the trends already shaping the sector, such as labor shortages, stricter regulations, digitalization, sustainability, and the energy transition, we’ll present a blueprint for modern project management.
We’ll demonstrate our unique approach to knowledge and configuration management. This allows project teams to quickly create high-quality project data based on validated knowledge, which they can continuously enrich throughout the lifecycle with insights and recommendations from the library. This forms the foundation for a truly learning organization: one that gains control over efficiency and quality, and that becomes smarter with every project.
